SUMMARY

 

The Finance/Payroll Specialist will provide assistance with operations within the payroll and finance departments.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  1. Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll.
  2. Complete Verification of Employment documentation.
  3. Assist with balancing quarterly payroll reports.
  4. Assist with unemployment insurance to Department of Economic Security & employment data to Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  5. Reconciliation of current employees in Finance Software.
  6. Reconciliation of substitute teacher hours via the district’s timecard software.
  7. Assist with onboarding of new employees and new hire documents.
  8. Assist employees with timecard software.
  9. Input employee ID badge data within district timecard software.
  10. Assign employees about new hire documents.
  11. Assist with creation of finance/payroll software guides and internal excel spreadsheets to assist with finance/payroll procedures.
  12. Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) ending payroll verifications.
  13. ASRS Enrollments.
  14. Monitor Payroll email account.
  15. Complete reconciliation of fingerprint documentation.
  16. Review travel requests and supporting receipts and documentation.
  17. Review and communicate with supervisors about extra work in timecard software.
  18. Reconciliation of employee deduction benefits.
  19. Deliver payroll checks to district locations.
  20. File payroll and related documents.
  21. Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. High school diploma or GED required.

 

  1. One year’s bookkeeping or payroll experience or equivalent training in related field.

 

  1. Ability to work with computerized payroll system, data entry, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
