Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor

Crane Consumables is a local, family-owned manufacturer of bar code, pricing and packaging labels. We are in need of an individual to lead our Warehouse and Shipping Operations.

Our Warehouse/Shipping area consists of a team of about 6 people who get the job done. The incumbent is expected understand, model and lead shipping processes to ensure our product is correctly shipped to our customer. He/She will also be responsible for managing finished goods inventory and supplies.

This is an active role. The incumbent should expect to lead the function from the floor and will work along side the team to get the product to our customers on a daily basis.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Works safely. Abides by all Company and regulatory safety, 5S and operating policies and procedures. Reports injuries and near misses as required.
• Maintains shipping log. Reviews log daily. Coordinates staff to ensure all shipments listed on the daily shipping log are picked, packed and shipped, as appropriate.
• Manages inventory accuracy, ensuring finished goods inventory matches Labeltraxx quantities. Adjusts inventory for shipped products or when discrepancies are found.
• Uses Labeltraxx reports (and physical inventory counts as needed) to review inventory levels. Coordinates with front office to create tickets for items below established thresholds.
• Supervises and leads assigned staff. Assists in hiring, developing, disciplinary actions and terminating staff. Provides consistent feedback to staff. Understands and enforces company policies.
• Determines work processes and schedules to expedite workflow. Develops and enforces standard procedures.
• Makes sure inventory is received and set in proper location, including buy-out materials, cores, boxes and product returns. Alerts Supply Chain Management/Quality if physical quantity does not match documentation.
• Communicates warehouse-related concerns to the management team. Works with employees and management to resolve issues. Works with management team to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Works closely with office staff to resolve shipping or carrier related customer issues.
• Coordinates with Quality and Production to resolve issues with defective or questionable product found in Inventory.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, to Company 5S standards.

Job Qualifications

• 3-5 years Warehouse experience, including 1 year of safe forklift operation and 1 year previous supervisory experience in a warehouse setting.
• Strong work ethic, excellent attendance and consistent employment history. Tenure length at previous employers will be closely reviewed.
• Demonstrated success in leading a team.
• Ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment.
• Problem solving/critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently, and maneuver up to 1,500 lbs with a hand truck, and climb ladders
• Ability to use computer software to understand sales orders and shipping instructions
• Proficiency in counting and basic math calculations to determine product weights and case counts.

Shift hours: Generally 9am - 6pm Mon - Fri Note: Shift end can vary, from 5:30 - 7:00pm, depending on when truck loading is completed.

In addition to base pay, the company provides substantial quarterly bonus opportunity after 3 months of service.
