Role Description This is a full-time, Tax Preparer role based in Ft Worth, TX. The Tax Preparer will prepare and review individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Daily responsibilities include analyzing financial records, verifying source documents, reconciling figures, and identifying potential deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities. The role involves communicating with clients to gather necessary information, clarify questions, and explain tax outcomes in a clear, professional manner. The Tax Preparer will also assist with maintaining organized tax files, staying current on tax law changes, and collaborating with bookkeeping and payroll staff to ensure consistent financial reporting.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of strong
- skills in Tax Preparation and practical experience preparing individual and small business tax returns.
- Knowledge of Tax, Tax Law, and the ability to interpret and apply current federal and state tax regulations.
- Ability to work with Financial Statements and Finance concepts to accurately analyze income, expenses, and balance sheet items.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software, spreadsheets, and general accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills for frequent client interaction.
- Ability to manage deadlines during peak tax season and handle multiple client files simultaneously.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., EA, CPA candidate, or tax preparation credential) are a plus.
- Prior experience in a bookkeeping, payroll, or public accounting environment is beneficial.
