Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Cleanroom Micro-Soldering Specialist at our Lynnwood, WA location. Hours are M-F 5:00am-1:30pm.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform advanced soldering tasks, including micro soldering, to assemble components and subassemblies.

  • Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.

  • Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy; proactively identify safety concerns or issues.

  • Train and mentor new employees and other team members in soldering techniques, processes, and Crane tools.

  • Prioritize daily demand as communicated by team-lead and/or supervisor for the cell(s) they are working in.

  • Discuss and problem-solve quality issues with Manufacturing Engineers, the Quality group, and leadership.

  • Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement.

  • Crosstrain to work on all processes within the value stream.

  • Identify and report issues to leadership.

  • Complete job-related company training courses.

  • Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise. ' Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.

  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits

  • Review work instructions for errors and/or clarification improvements

  • May be required to repair/rework d efective or returned assemblies

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Experience : 10 years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 1 year of specific micro soldering experience

  • Knowledge : Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufa cture and distribution of goods

  • Skills : Strong v er bal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language ; B asic computer skills (understanding of basic software)

  • Abilities : Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other visio n capabilities required; Manipulative skills, includi ng finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordi nation and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as il lustrations and wiring diagrams ; Ability to w ork well in high paced work envir onment in a high-volume setting

  • Education/Certification : High School d iploma or equivalent ; Fine soldering certif icate or equivalent experience

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to coach and mentor as well as have input into employment process

  • Ability to do part marking, wrapping and packaging finished goods and transport to other work areas

  • Ability to ensure all paperwork and work order transactions are completed appr opriately and close work orders

  • Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions

  • Experience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration schedule

  • IPC solder certification

  • Designated Inspection certification

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions could include a Class 7 or 8 Cleanroom, or general manufacturing environment

  • Up to 7 hours of Microscope Work Daily

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises

  • Standing: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Sitting: 75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds

  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds

  • Mental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses

  • Workspace: assembly cell

Salary range: $33.11 - $42.73. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
