What We Are Seeking
We are seeking an experienced Employee Benefits (Group Health) Account Executive who enjoys building strong client relationships and delivering thoughtful, reliable service. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is detail-oriented, accountable, and thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
In this role, you will manage and service a book of group benefit clients, handling the full client lifecycle, including quoting, proposals, renewals, enrollment, and ongoing support. You will play a key role in the renewal process through developing and presenting strategies, coordinating open enrollment, and ensuring a smooth experience for both clients and their employees.
This position also involves maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners, managing enrollments through Employee Navigator, and providing year-round support with coverage and claims questions.

Job Responsibilities
- Maintains all files and records of your assigned block of group benefit clients.
- Begin renewal process 90 days in advance by reviewing the group’s current benefit plans and renewal proposals sent by insurance carriers. If needed, begin negotiations with the incumbent carrier while requesting competitive quotes.
- Contact the group administrator 60 days prior to the renewal date to discuss options and confirm annual budget and coverage needs. Schedule additional calls to review your detailed renewal presentation and share your recommendations.
- Lock in final decisions for the plan year 45 days prior to renewal. Complete all necessary paperwork to update the carriers of changes or renewal decisions prior to their deadlines.
- Schedule open enrollment meetings and confirm all materials needed for employee communication.
- Update Employee Navigator with all plans and documents required for annual enrollment.
- Coordinate file feeds for client to all carriers (payroll, benefits, COBRA, etc)
- Conduct employee meetings (in person, virtually, or possibly recording or video)
- Capture, review, and submit all enrollment data to carriers 40-20 days prior to renewal to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
- 20 days prior to renewal, confirm all carriers are updated, and any new ID cards or materials are sent prior to the effective date. This includes payroll and COBRA vendor coordination.
- Review invoices to ensure correct rates and enrollment are billed. Make any changes and review future invoices for adjustments.
- Ensure all internal files are updated with the new renewal plan benefits, rates, documentation, and signed agreements.
- Set any future meetings or dates to connect with clients during the plan year for strategic planning. Confirm internal files have post-renewal notes or specific items identified to review during the next renewal process.
- Assist the client’s employees with questions regarding enrollment, coverage, ID cards, and claims.
- Assist clients with billing issues, enrollment & termination issues, and any other service support requested.
- Attend seminars/workshops and review information on changes in laws relating to employee benefits to ensure knowledge of the laws and the insurance company’s plan options is current.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma (or Equivalent)
- License: Texas General Lines Agent – Life, Accident, Health & HMO
- Minimum of 5 years of Employee Benefits experience, with strong knowledge of current state and federal benefits laws
