Cranbrook Schools is seeking a passionate, committed, and growth-minded Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach to support and help build a competitive and values-driven program within a premier independent school setting.
The position is well-suited for former field hockey players who are ready to take the next step into coaching and contribute to a program with high expectations, strong support, and significant potential for growth.
The ideal candidate will:
- Bring coaching experience in field hockey or demonstrate the ability to translate playing experience into effective teaching.
- Former field hockey playing experience (high school, club, or collegiate) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach fundamentals, build relationships, and create a positive, accountable team culture.
- Be eager to learn, grow, and contribute within a collaborative coaching staff.
- Be committed to developing student-athletes of character, emphasizing effort, discipline, and a team-first mentality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in planning and leading practices focused on skill development and team concepts.
- Support game preparation, scouting, and in-game coaching.
- Help foster a competitive and inclusive team culture aligned with school values.
- Communicate effectively with players, families, and the coaching staff.
- Contribute to the long-term growth and sustainability of the program.

- Meaningful connections within the club field hockey community are highly desirable.
