Cranberry Park at Shorepointe is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance employee to work on the weekends and to be available to pick-up shifts throughout the week as needed. Some holidays may also be required.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and functional environment for residents, visitors, and employees. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and groundskeeping duties throughout the community while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and furnishings.
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document findings.
- Repair walls, doors, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and minor electrical issues.
- Assist with apartment turnovers and room preparation for new residents.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, landscaping, and snow removal as needed.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, emergency preparedness, and life safety standards.
- Monitor HVAC systems and report concerns requiring outside vendor support.
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Maintain maintenance logs, records, and inventory of supplies.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.
- Support special projects, renovations, and facility improvement initiatives.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding resident rights, confidentiality, and workplace safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous maintenance experience preferred, especially in assisted living, healthcare, or residential settings.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to respond to emergencies at any time during scheduled shifts.
