Responsibilities

- Monitor vital signs, observe changes in health status, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff or supervisors.
- Support residents with activities of daily living, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and records using Electronic Health Record while respecting patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow all safety procedures related to manual handling, heavy lifting, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs, including those requiring Alzheimer’s or dementia care, hospice support, or specialized memory care.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Ability to work with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to connect empathetically with residents and team members.
- Understanding of state healthcare regulations, senior care standards, and resident personal care assistance protocols.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting when necessary and maintaining physical stamina for long shifts involving manual handling tasks.
