What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller/CPA position at Crain Walnut Shelling, Inc.?
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who is responsible for developing and overseeing well-trained professionals for finance and cost accounting departments. The Controller shall recommend and implement continuous accounting task and system improvements. The Controller shall review, compile, and analyze costs and perform other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Finance and CFO. Experience in complex tax compliance and planning is a MUST.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with government agencies
- Act as the point of contact for external auditors
- Maintain internal books and finances Analyze financial transactions

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
- 10 years of tax experience - Complex tax compliance and planning
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- GAAP knowledge, CPA required
- Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
