Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as organizing supplies and supporting the kitchen team with ingredient handling
- Clear tables promptly and efficiently, bussing dishes and resetting tables for incoming guests
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, kitchen stations, and dishwashing areas in compliance with sanitation standards
- Support kitchen staff with manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies and equipment safely
- Follow all food safety management protocols to ensure proper food handling and sanitation standards are upheld
- Assist with catering or banquet setups when required, ensuring all items are clean and ready for service
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred; familiarity with kitchen operations is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a restaurant environment
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and sinks safely and effectively
- Strong manual handling skills including heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment as needed
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks involving bending, lifting, and moving items efficiently
