Job Overview
Craftmasters Laser & Fabrication is looking for a Production Scheduler to own the daily execution of our production schedule. This is a detail-heavy, fast-moving role - you'll be evaluating jobs against real station capacity, managing job readiness before release, distributing work to shop leads and keeping the floor informed when things shift.
What You'll Do
- Validate and adjust ERP-scheduled dates against actual station capacity - understand that ERP auto-scheduling is a starting point, not the answer.
- Monitor jobs approaching their start dates and confirm all inputs are ready before release: programming complete, on-hand material, accuracy of paperwork.
- Print and verify traveler packets; release jobs to the floor on validated dates only.
- Build and distribute daily station schedules to shop leads. You'll need to communicate directly - you won't rely on leads pulling from the system.
- Track floor progress against the schedule daily; identify jobs running behind, flag blockers, and escalate early.
- Maintain visibility on the rolling 2-4 week capacity horizon and escalate delivery risks to Operations and Sales before they become crises.
Qualifications - What We're Looking For
- Attention to Detail - this role lives and dies on accuracy. You catch what others miss and you follow through.
- ERP Proficiency - comfortable working in a job-based ERP system and tracking data across multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Clear Communicator - Shop leads need to hear from you directly when something changes. Written communication is preferred - changes that aren't documented didn't happen.
- Manufacturing Experience - production scheduling, manufacturing coordination, or fabrication background preferred. Light industrial or metal fab experience is a plus.
- Proactive Mindset - Station schedules should be built and communicated before the floor asks. If you're reactive by default, this role will be hard.
- Growth Orientation - this role has a defined path toward broader operational responsibility for the right person. We're looking for someone interested in growing with it.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
