About the job
We're hiring cashiers for our store on Front Street in Buchanan. This is straightforward work with good people, and there's a real path up if you want it.
What you'd do
Run the register and take care of customers. Keep the store clean — sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, the coffee area, the lot outside. Stock shelves and keep the cooler full and faced. Check in orders. On slower shifts there's always something to be done.
Hours
We need both morning and evening coverage, with evenings being the bigger need. The store runs two shifts: open until around 1:00, and around 1:00 until close. We schedule week to week and do our best to work around what you need, but we can't promise the same days every week. Both full-time and part-time available.
One thing up front
All training happens at our New Buffalo locations, about three weeks depending on how fast you pick it up. That's roughly a 30 minute drive from Buchanan. Once you're trained you'd work out of the Buchanan store. We'd rather you know that going in.
Pay and benefits
$15 to $18 an hour depending on where you are on our ladder. Everyone starts as a Trainee at $15 and moves up as they earn it — Cashier, Independent Cashier, Store Manager.
Health insurance after 90 days. 401(k) after 6 months. $500 bonus if you refer someone we hire.
What we need from you
- At least 18 years old
- Reliable transportation to Buchanan, and to New Buffalo during training
- Able to be on your feet for a shift and lift a case of product
No convenience store experience needed. We train you.
