Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet every guest within 30 seconds of arrival, using the G.U.E.S.T. framework for consistent, authentic service
- Guide guests through the menu, highlight favorites, and share personal favorites
- Proactively suggest add-ons and pairings—appetizers, beverages, and desserts—to elevate check averages
- Accurately enter orders in the POS system and monitor ticket times to ensure timely service
- Check in on guests post-service to confirm satisfaction and invite feedback
- Maintain a clean, organized dining area: tables, floors, stocking, bathrooms, and the storefront
- Process transactions with attention to accuracy
- Collaborate management to anticipate busy periods and smooth workflow
- Ingredient Preparation
- Portion sauces, garnishes, and toppings according to standardized recipes
- Execute service at a cooking station
- Monitor food times and temperatures to uphold quality and food safety standards
- Station Setup & Maintenance
- Restock supplies and ingredients before and during service
- Sanitize work surfaces, utensils, and equipment between prep shifts
- Quality Assurance
- Inspect incoming deliveries and report any discrepancies
- Adhere strictly to food safety guidelines (FIFO, temperature logs, proper storage)
- Cleanup & Sanitation
- Wash dishes, pans, and cooking tools using industrial dishwashers or by hand
- Sweep, mop, and take out trash to maintain a spotless kitchen environment
- Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding order priorities and timing
- Assist wherever needed to keep service flowing smoothly
Qualifications
- 1 year of customer-facing experience in fast casual, quick service, or retail sales a plus
- Strong communication skills and a natural flair for building rapport
- Sales-oriented attitude: comfortable recommending menu items and upselling add-ons
- Basic POS or tablet order-entry proficiency
- Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining a warm, composed demeanor
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain one
