Help young mothers build the skills, confidence, faith, and stability needed to create a strong future for themselves and their children.

Full-Time- Second Shift & Rotating Weekends (This is NOT a Monday-Friday position, please see details below)

Cradle of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center | Mt Pleasant, Iowa

Compensation: Compensation for this position will be determined based on the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The live-in arrangement, including housing and covered household utilities, is provided as part of the overall compensation package and should be considered when evaluating the total value of the position.

Cradle of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center is seeking someone to lead and mentor young mothers living in our residential Mothers Home.

This is more than a housing position. We are looking for a mature, dependable woman who can lead with both grace and accountability, create structure and consistency in the home, teach practical life skills, and walk alongside mothers as they work toward stability, independence, and a stronger future for themselves and their children.

WHO WE ARE

Cradle of Hope is a Christian, pro-life organization committed to supporting women, children, and families. Our ultimate mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ while helping women experience transformation through the renewing of their minds and equipping them to make healthy, life-giving choices for themselves and their children.

Because this position involves direct mentoring and discipleship within our Mother's Home, applicants must personally support our Christian faith, pro-life mission, and biblical approach to family, parenting, and life, and be willing to openly participate in and support the spiritual mission of Cradle of Hope.

ABOUT THE MOTHER'S HOME

Our Mother's Home provides a structured residential environment for single pregnant women and young mothers with children ages 0–2. Residents receive support, education, mentoring, resources, and practical training designed to help them move toward greater stability and independent living.

Our goal is not simply to provide a place to stay. We want to teach, mentor, encourage, challenge, and equip each mother for long-term success.

THE HOUSE SUPERVISOR WILL:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Mothers Home during 2nd shift
  • Create a safe, welcoming, structured, and Christ-centered home environment.
  • Build positive mentoring relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Teach and reinforce routines, household expectations, cleanliness, organization, time management, and personal responsibility.
  • Help residents understand not only what the expectations are, but why they matter.
  • Provide consistent accountability while extending appropriate grace and encouragement.
  • Help mothers develop practical skills including grocery shopping, meal planning, budgeting, household management, parenting, scheduling, and preparation for independent living.
  • Help establish and maintain weekly schedules, appointments, classes, responsibilities, and household routines.
  • Oversee resident onboarding, checklists, room expectations, and follow-through.
  • Encourage participation in required educational and life-skills classes through BrightCourse and other Cradle of Hope programming.
  • Mentor mothers in parenting, relationships, personal responsibility, employment readiness, and healthy decision-making.
  • Encourage spiritual growth and participate in sharing the Gospel and biblical truth with residents.
  • Help maintain household supplies, inventory, organization, and general readiness of the home.
  • Participate in grocery and household planning and teach residents responsible budgeting and purchasing.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and communication regarding resident progress, needs, and household matters.
  • Help maintain consistent policies and procedures among all Mothers Home staff.
  • Respond appropriately to household needs and emergencies according to Cradle of Hope protocols.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS:

  • A committed Christian who genuinely supports the mission and beliefs of Cradle of Hope.
  • Passionate about helping women and families grow in truth, responsibility, and stability.
  • Comfortable sharing the Gospel and participating in biblical discipleship.
  • Firm when necessary, but compassionate, patient, and encouraging.
  • Able to balance grace with accountability.
  • Organized and capable of creating structure and following through.
  • A strong communicator who can work collaboratively with a team.
  • Comfortable addressing difficult situations and enforcing established household expectations.
  • Able to recognize that many residents may not have been taught basic routines, household management, parenting skills, or healthy structure and are willing to teach rather than simply correct.
  • Mature enough to maintain professional boundaries while building meaningful relationships.
  • Dependable and able to handle the unique responsibilities of a residential environment.
  • Willing to participate in ongoing training and follow Cradle of Hope policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have one or more of the following:

  • Experience working with women, young adults, families, children, or individuals from complex or challenging backgrounds.
  • A degree or significant relevant experience in social work, human services, education, counseling, ministry, residential care, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
  • Leadership, mentoring, case management, residential, parenting, or life-skills teaching experience is a plus.

Previous residential management experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone with the character, maturity, teachability, and heart to lead well.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in this position is not simply having a quiet or perfectly clean house.

Success looks like a mother who learns how to create a routine for herself and her child.

A mother who learns to manage a grocery budget.

A mother who learns to keep her home, appointments, and responsibilities in order.

A mother who understands that accountability and grace can exist together.

A mother who gains confidence, learns new skills, grows spiritually, and begins preparing for an independent life.

We are looking for someone who wants to walk alongside women, not just manage a home.

If you are a Christian woman with a heart for mentoring, teaching, leadership, and helping young mothers build a different future for themselves and their children, we would love to hear from you.

Alternative Arrangements: We are willing to discuss various positions, schedules, and staffing structures and determine what may be the best fit based on the applicant’s experience, gifts, and availability. Please do not let any requirements keep you from applying.

APPLICATION & HIRING PROCESS

  • A background check is required for all applicants as part of our hiring process.
  • Please submit a resume with your application. A cover letter is encouraged, and letters of recommendation or professional references are a bonus.
  • Our hiring process includes two separate interviews. Applicants selected to move forward after the initial interview will be invited to a second interview with additional Cradle of Hope staff and members of our Board.
  • Training for this position is paid. Training will include required online coursework as well as hands-on job-shadow training at the Mother's Home alongside a member of our management staff.
  • The selected applicant should be prepared to learn our Mother's Home policies, procedures, safety protocols, documentation, resident expectations, and approach to mentoring and accountability before assuming the full responsibilities of the position

Application Question(s):

  • Cradle of Hope is a Christian, pro-life organization whose mission includes protecting unborn life, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and walking alongside mothers as they build a stable future for themselves and their children. Please describe your personal understanding of and support for this mission, and how you believe it would influence the way you serve and mentor the women living in our Mothers Home.
  • Our goal is not only to provide housing, but also to help mothers understand the value of life, develop healthy thinking and decision-making, and build the skills they need for successful independent living. How would you approach mentoring a mother who may come to us with beliefs, experiences, or values very different from your own?
  • Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is central to the mission of Cradle of Hope. How comfortable are you with discussing your Christian faith and biblical principles with the women we serve, and what would that look like in a respectful mentoring relationship?
  • Do you personally support the Christian and pro-life mission of Cradle of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center and agree to work within our organization's biblical beliefs and values? Please explain your answer.
