What You'll Do - You'll Make The Moment
- Develop and implement strategies to identify the optimum supplier base, term of agreements, pricing methodologies, and other terms and conditions.
- Negotiate supply agreements, analyze proposals, and provide recommendations in support of approved purchasing strategies and the department mission.
- Monitor and proactively communicate changes to existing supplier capacity/distribution capabilities to ensure that all quality, cost and service expectations are met.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance, and adherence to the negotiated supply agreements.
- Work with distributors as needed to manage product rollouts and inventory, and to resolve issues.
- Maintain knowledge of market and supplier landscape to identify and build relationships with potential suppliers.
- Be the company expert and resource for assigned industries, commodities, products, and suppliers.
- Monitor respective commodities, develop strategies, and present appropriate recommendations.
- Support and manage product needs for tests, projects, limited time offers, and the core menu.
- Work with cross functional teams such as: Supply Chain, Culinary, Quality Assurance, Menu Strategy, and other departments to resolve issues and identify and secure opportunities.
- Lead and support the development of specifications, product sample requests, business process development, analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
- Some travel may be required.
- Regularly update price forecasts for assigned products.
- Bachelor’s degree with three-four years of direct and relevant work experience.
- Restaurant industry, Supply Chain, Finance, or Project Management experience a plus.
- Prior contract knowledge or experience a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and reasoning skills with a problem-solving and results focused approach.
- Ability to develop strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Comfortable handling and managing through ambiguity.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Must be detail oriented and excel at follow up.
- Position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Maintain professional and positive business relationships both internally and externally.
