ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of all HVAC equipment and systems. Serve as the primary technical expert for troubleshooting complex HVAC and mechanical issues.
- Possess hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems (including, pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/controls systems, and associated electrical systems) using industry-standard tools and in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations
- Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
- Replace HVAC filters, clean A.C. unit coils, replace drive belts, lubricate bearings and pumps, log equipment information and make operational adjustments on the BMS system and equipment. Repair Fan Coils, FPB’s and VAV’s
- Conduct preventive maintenance on the building’s mechanical equipment systems
- Keep mechanical systems in compliance with current mechanical codes
- Onboard and mentor apprentices ensuring hands-on learning and skill development.
- Foster a structured learning environment for apprentices. Monitor apprentice progress and provide feedback to ensure competency in HVAC installation, maintenance and repair.
- Maintain records of apprenticeship for reporting purposes.
- This position is a member of an Engineering Team that is responsible for many varied tasks on the property. As a member of the team you will be required to do tasks that are not HVAC related.
- Test and treat closed loop systems to promote efficient operation and prevention of corrosion. Inspect closed and open looped systems of cooling towers to provide balanced water, system efficiency, and prevent biological growth.
- Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
- This position requires someone who has extensive engineering and maintenance skills and the desire to problem-solve, work effectively with vendors, residents, and management, and maintain the overall excellence of all equipment and systems.
- Resolves issues and makes working decisions within HVAC responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Will be lead point of contact on any maintenance HVAC projects
- Work independently troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment
- Review drawings and submittals for equipment additions or replacements, checking for accuracy and suitability.
- Oversees getting estimates on materials and equipment that need replacement and reviewing the estimate for completeness
- On Call requirements to handle all maintenance calls that come up before, during and after hour. Take ownership of major HVAC projects, including planning, coordination with vendors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgets.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work is assigned using verbal or written orders and carried out by the position following standard heating and air conditioning trade practices.
- Work is subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion.
- Utilize blueprints, equipment diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
- Survey mechanical systems, ductwork, hydronic piping, and plans.
- Troubleshoot low-voltage electrical systems and circuitry.
- Expected to exercise independent judgment in times of immediate need or emergencies.
- Monitor and work with contracted mechanical contractors at McGregor Square on maintenance or capital repair projects.
- Assists in other work areas in the department, ballpark, or Coors Field, as needed or directed by the Senior Director of Engineering.
- Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
- Carry a portable radio, stay in constant communication with the central base station, respond to all engineering service calls, prioritize work orders, and maintain equipment efficiently, safely, and accident-free.
- Duties are not explicitly limited to the identified areas listed above. You will be required to be on call for off-hours emergency calls per the rotating schedule.
- Partners with management on training program development and process improvements.
- Mentor and oversee apprentices in the HVAC trade, providing technical instruction, hands-on training, and performance feedback.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SPECIFICATIONS):
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- High School Diploma or GED
- Universal Refrigeration Certificate (Required), EPA Section 608 Technician Certification
- 8-10 years Maintenance Background, preferably with experience providing maintenance on a large commercial building
- Stationary Engineer License (Desirable)
- Licensed in the State of Colorado – proof of license required
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior HVAC technicians or apprentices
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects or make technical decisions independently.
- Computer Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF software (Preferred)
- Operating equipment used in the building trades – forklift, lifts, carts, etc.
- A valid driver’s license in good standing is required because you may be required to drive a company vehicle during working hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools, and materials (up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs).
- Ability to carry HVAC units, parts, and tools to and from work sites, including in confined or challenging spaces.
- Ability to frequently use ladders, scaffolding, and lifts to access elevated work areas such as rooftops, ceilings, and HVAC systems in tall buildings while maintaining balance working in elevated or awkward positions.
- Frequent kneeling, squatting, or crouching to access HVAC equipment in tight spaces or on floors and ceilings.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting to install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, sometimes in uneven or outdoor terrain, to perform routine inspections and repairs across various areas of the property (residential, hotel, business, and outdoor).
- Ability to use hand, power, and diagnostic equipment with precision and safety.

This job requires game day duties which require a fluctuating schedule during the season. Hours may vary due to project requirements, such as game day duties, special event schedules, and season preparation.
- This position will require being on call for off-hours emergency calls or providing support for service issues or failures at any time. There will be an on-call calendar that will require being on call for 7 days at a time, and it will rotate between the other HVAC Engineers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervisory responsibilities with this position include the apprentice program.
SALARY RANGE:
- Hourly Range of $40-48. This is a regular status, full-time position eligible for all company benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision), Retirement, and accrued time off (Vacation/ Sick/ Holiday).
