Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time, remote role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for luxury outdoor living projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural and landscape plans, performing detailed quantity take-offs, and developing comprehensive budgets for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. The role involves collaborating with project managers, designers, and vendors to validate pricing, clarify scope, and support value engineering decisions. The Construction Estimator will prepare bid proposals, track cost trends, and update estimates as designs evolve, ensuring projects are financially viable and aligned with client expectations. This role also contributes to cost management throughout the project lifecycle by supporting change order pricing and maintaining estimating databases.
Qualifications
- Strong Construction Estimating skills, including the ability to interpret plans and specifications for high-end exterior environments.
- Proficiency in Quantity Take-offs using digital tools or estimating software to produce accurate material and labor quantities.
- Cost Management and Budgeting abilities, including developing detailed cost breakdowns, analyzing variances, and supporting value engineering.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors, and to present estimates and assumptions clearly.
- Experience with outdoor construction, landscape, hardscape, or pool/spa projects is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with construction estimating software and Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a remote environment.
- Relevant education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
