Role Description The BIM and MEP Coordinator is a full-time remote role responsible for coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across luxury outdoor and aquatic projects. This role involves creating, updating, and managing BIM models; integrating architectural, structural, pool, and site information; and ensuring accurate representation of all MEP systems. The coordinator will review design documents, detect and resolve clashes, and collaborate closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and field teams to maintain constructible, coordinated models. Daily tasks include preparing coordinated drawings and details, maintaining model standards and naming conventions, supporting RFIs and submittals with BIM data, and assisting with 3D visualizations for internal and client use. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of BIM workflows, documentation practices, and coordination processes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in BIM tools and workflows, such as Revit, Navisworks, and related coordination software, with experience managing multi-disciplinary models.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and their integration with structural, architectural, and site components, ideally including aquatic and pool-related systems.
- Ability to perform clash detection, resolve coordination issues, and produce clear, detailed drawings and documentation suitable for construction teams.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction documents, shop drawings, and specifications for complex residential and commercial projects.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including managing multiple active projects, version control, and model standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate remotely with designers, engineers, project managers, and field personnel.
- Familiarity with luxury or high-end construction, outdoor environments, or aquatic facilities is preferred.
