My client, an industry leading, global chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Category Manager for Logistics and Distribution to join their dynamic Global Procurement team. This role leads the development and execution of sourcing strategies across transportation, warehousing, and related logistics services, optimizing cost, service, and risk. The Category Manager will manage a $40M annual spend, drive supplier performance, and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure supply reliability and productivity across 20 manufacturing sites.

- Develop and implement category strategies for logistics and distribution (freight, warehousing, 3PL) for bulk chemicals.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage supplier selection, contracts, and performance to meet service-level agreements.
- Identify and deliver cost savings initiatives while maintaining service quality.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, finance, and business teams to align strategies with objectives.
- Support logistics network design and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 7 years in global industrial/manufacturing environments. Prefer chemical manufacturing
- 5 years in strategic sourcing focusing on the logistics/distribution categories for chemicals.
- Experience in supplier negotiations, financial modeling, and enterprise systems (SAP Ariba, Analytics Cloud, Salesforce).
