The Process Controls Engineer is responsible for improving plant performance, reliability, and safety through the application of advanced instrumentation, control systems, and automation technologies.
This role combines process optimization with project execution, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term improvements. Will lead and support control system projects from concept through startup, while also providing technical expertise in troubleshooting, training, and system reliability.
Support ESH Compliance:
The Process Controls Engineer is responsible for improving plant performance, reliability, and safety through the application of advanced instrumentation, control systems, and automation technologies.

Will lead and support control system projects from concept through startup, while also providing technical expertise in troubleshooting, training, and system reliability.
Support ESH Compliance:
- Support site safety and environmental efforts through control system design and monitoring
- Ensure compliance with ES&H and cGMP requirements
- Conduct ES&H project reviews as needed
- Establish/maintain critical alarms and interlocks
- Identify and implement control strategies to improve process stability, efficiency and product quality
- Support and maintain DCS, PLC and HMI systems
- Specify and support installation and maintenance of field instrumentation, final control elements and control hardware
- Develop and maintain alarm management systems and critical interlocks
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis using control system data & historian tools
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance control capabilities
- Integrate and manage data analytics and modeling tools to support process insights and continuous improvement
- Assist in managing and expanding the PI data historian
- Provide training and mentoring to operations and maintenance personnel on control systems and strategy
- Lead and support instrumentation and control projects from concept through startup
- Develop project scopes, functional definitions and cost estimates
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective execution
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations and documentation requirements
- Participate in capital planning and control system migration strategies
