Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Assist with annual audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, and manufacturing variances.
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and physical inventories to ensure financial accuracy.
- Partner with production and operations teams to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce operating costs.
- Evaluate production performance and provide financial analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Identify, recommend, and implement cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing and corporate operations.
- Develop financial models and profitability analyses to support strategic business decisions.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability.
- Support capital investment analyses and return-on-investment (ROI) evaluations for equipment, automation, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Assist in establishing departmental goals, performance expectations, and professional development plans.
- Promote collaboration between Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Production teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Controller and executive leadership on financial and operational matters
