CPS HR Consulting is hiring multiple Exam Administrators (Assistant Proctors) throughout California to support test administrations on an as-needed basis. Shifts are available Monday–Friday from 4:00–7:30 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. This flexible opportunity allows you to choose your own schedule, engage with diverse communities, and contribute to fair and secure testing environments—all while enjoying meaningful, people-centered work!
We are currently hiring Assistant Proctors in the following counties: Sacramento, Humbolt, San Diego, Santa Clara, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.Assistant Proctors support the Chief Proctor in ensuring a smooth and standardized test administration. The proctor-to-candidate ratio varies based on the exam requirements, but a general guideline is one assistant proctor for every 30 candidates. Assistant Proctor responsibilities include:
- Following instructions from the chief proctor and adhering to all test administration protocols.
- Maintaining standardized procedures to ensure fairness and consistency across all test locations.
- Helping to safeguard test security and maintain the confidentiality of exam materials.
- Supporting the registration process and seating of candidates.
- Aiding in the distribution and collection of test materials.
- Monitoring candidates throughout the exam to ensure compliance with test policies.
- Providing breaks for other proctors.
- Assisting with the completion of required documentation as directed by the chief proctor.
- Providing general exam support as needed.
- Attend training or conference calls as needed
- Physical Requirements: Stand and walk for long periods; Lift and carry up to 20 pounds; Bend and reach across tables to inspect materials and examinees.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Effective vocabulary, grammar, and arithmetic skills.
Must demonstrate ability to follow directions and complete written paperwork.
Basic computer skills (email and internet) are required.
Prior exam administration experience is highly desirable.
