Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials safely.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems and barcode scanning tools to ensure accurate stock levels and order fulfillment.
- Pick orders efficiently using order picker equipment while adhering to safety standards in production and warehouse distribution.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and preparing items for dispatch.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow OSHA regulations and warehouse safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Support warehouse supervision by maintaining organized storage areas, managing materials handling tasks, and participating in warehouse operations improvements.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control procedures, and barcode scanning technology.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes along with heavy lifting techniques aligned with safety standards like OSHA.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols including manual handling practices and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts accurately.
- Previous experience in warehouse management or supervision roles is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
