This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of ground support equipment, including tugs, belt loaders, de-icing units, and other airport service vehicles and machinery. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, completing repairs to manufacturer and safety standards, and documenting all work performed. The technician will support rapid AOG and ramp-side service needs, collaborate with team members to prioritize workloads, and communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to supervisors and customers. The role also involves adhering to safety protocols, following regulatory and quality procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of service processes.

Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance and repair of industrial, automotive, or heavy equipment systems (e.g., engines, transmissions, hydraulics).
- Basic to intermediate electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including reading wiring diagrams and using diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform systematic diagnostics, identify root causes, and complete timely, accurate repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of safety practices, workplace OSHA standards, and commitment to quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with tools and equipment commonly used in GSE, automotive, or heavy equipment repair shops.
- Effective communication skills for documenting service work, reporting findings, and interacting with supervisors, team members, and customers.
- Ability to work on-site in a dynamic airport or ramp environment, including standing, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training, technical certification, or military maintenance experience in a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; eligibility to work in secured airport areas may be required.
- Prior GSE, aviation maintenance, or fleet service experience is a strong plus but not mandatory.
