Applicants should be strong critical thinkers that love to solve problems. Since this role will involve a lot of process documentation, it’s a great fit for some that want to develop experience in systems thinking, requirements gathering, visualization, and presenting. There will be many opportunities to interact with business teams and IT teams, learning to bridge between both. Program OverviewThis paid internship program will run for 11 weeks beginning June 1, 2026 and ending August 14, 2026.This is a hybrid position with the intern working remotely and at our Baltimore office or New York City office three days a week (Tues/Wed/Thurs).Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDocument current-state (“AS IS”) business processes across key operational areas and other internal workflows.Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define future-state (“TO BE”) processes that drive efficiency, scalability, and improved customer experience.Create clear process maps, workflow diagrams, swimlanes, and supporting documentation using tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio.Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather requirements, identify pain points, validate process steps, and capture business rules.Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and automation.Support development of business requirements and user stories for enhancements to internal systems, customer-facing portals, and operational tools.Assist in documenting data flows between systems and helping identify gaps, dependencies, or inconsistencies.Help build a centralized, well-organized process documentation library to support teams across the business.Collaborate with Product, Operations, Customer Success, Engineering, and Data teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Support internal team rituals such as standups, sprint activities, meetings, and cross-team reviews.Present findings, documentation, and recommendations to Product Leadership at the conclusion of the internship.RequirementsRising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a BS degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related technical discipline; or Graduate student pursuing an MS degree in these fields.Analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to break down complex processes.Ability to create clear, accurate documentation and visually communicate workflows.Comfortable working with technical concepts, data flows, logic, and cross-system interactions.Interest in process improvement, systems design, optimization, or product development.Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to document and explain complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels.Problem-solving and creative thinking – ability to diagnose workflow issues and propose effective solutions.Organizational skills – ability to track details, manage multiple tasks, and maintain thorough documentation.Flexibility and adaptability – comfortable working in a changing environment and learning new tools quickly.Analytical mindset – ability to gather, interpret, and evaluate process information and identify trends.Keen attention to detail – must be able to spot inconsistencies, gaps, or unclear process steps and help resolve them.Experience with process mapping tools (Lucidchart, Miro, Visio) preferred.Exposure to SQL, PowerBI, or basic data analysis techniques a plus.All applicants must be able to provide documentation that they are legally eligible to work in the United States for an extended period, and will not now, nor in the future, require sponsorship for employment visa status to work legally for our Company in the United States.EEO StatementCPower is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
