Copywriter

Why this role matters

Are you a storyteller at heart who loves turning ideas into impactful content? At CPL, we’re looking for a creative and curious Copywriter to join our in-house marketing team. You’ll craft stories that connect people to our work, our values, and our vision — helping shape the voice of a growing, purpose-driven design firm.

What you’ll do 

• Write and edit compelling copy for a variety of platforms and audiences, including:
  • Business development materials, brochures, and handouts
  • Digital channels such as websites, emails, and social media
  • Ad campaigns across print and digital
  • Blog posts, articles, and thought leadership pieces
  • Internal and executive communications
  • Award and recognition submissions
• Collaborate with internal teams from concept to delivery
• Research topics and trends to craft accurate, meaningful messages
• Adapt your tone and style while staying true to CPL’s brand voice
• Proofread, refine, and elevate copy — and take feedback with grace
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, creative environment

What you bring 

• 2-3 years of experience writing for marketing, advertising, or communications (freelance and entry-level work all count).
• A degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven strong writer with a passion for storytelling and an eye for detail.
• A collaborative communicator who thrives on teamwork.
• Creative thinker who brings fresh ideas to the table.
• Research-driven and endlessly curious.
• A writing portfolio that shows your range and voice (student or intern work welcome!).

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with social media, content marketing, or CMS tools
• Familiarity with AP Style or similar style guides
• An interest in the architecture, engineering, or construction (A/E/C) industry

The rate for this position generally ranges between $50,000-$75,000K annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
