PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

We’re seeking a Construction Manager to oversee and mentor a team dedicated to installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing wayside equipment, all while maintaining the highest safety standards. In this crucial leadership role, you’ll ensure the seamless and safe movement of trains and equipment throughout our territory, stretching from St. Paul, MN to Chicago, IL.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Medical and Drug Testing
This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead safety initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety
- Coordinate construction services delivery, taking proactive corrective action when necessary
- Implement policies, processes, and procedures to enhance overall productivity and efficiency
- Identify and recommend innovative work methods, processes, and industry best practices
- Responsible for the timely completion and comprehensive documentation of construction projects
- Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and support new installations
- Manage project execution while adhering to established budgetary guidelines
- Coach and mentor team members to maximize efficiency, evaluate performance, and provide professional development opportunities
- Effectively leverage the collective bargaining agreement to optimize workforce management
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have valid drivers’ license
- Signal system maintenance, testing and construction knowledge and experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of signal experience, with a background in construction and/or electrical work
- Well-versed in relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Knowledge of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) collective bargaining agreement
- Proficient knowledge of computer applications (word, excel, PP, SAP,)
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and successful information exchange
