The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Quality Control Technician to support food safety and quality operations at their Tampa facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment while developing a career in food safety and quality assurance.
This role offers unique cross-functional exposure beyond traditional food manufacturing. The successful candidate will work closely with both production and Research & Development teams, supporting quality activities related to dry blending ingredients, formulations, and specialty products used within the cosmetic industry.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and quality checkpoints throughout production processes
- Ensure compliance with HACCP plans, GMP requirements, and SQF program standards
- Conduct allergen control checks, sanitation verifications, and pre-operational inspections
- Support traceability programs and maintain accurate production documentation
- Partner with the Research & Development team to support quality control activities for specialty and cosmetic-related products
- Assist with the evaluation and testing of dry blending ingredients, including raw material verification and in-process quality checks
- Support product development trials and scale-up activities by providing quality oversight
- Document findings and communicate feedback to support product optimization and compliance initiatives
- Perform in-process and finished product inspections to ensure products meet specifications
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances or quality deviations
- Maintain quality records, inspection logs, and monitoring reports accurately and consistently
- Conduct environmental and sanitation monitoring activities as required
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation in accordance with regulatory and SQF requirements
- Record inspection results, CCP monitoring data, and corrective actions clearly and accurately
- Assist with internal audits and third-party audit preparation activities
Ideal Qualifications & Competencies:
- 1–3 years of experience within a food manufacturing, quality control, or food safety environment preferred
- Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, and GMP programs considered a strong asset
- Experience maintaining quality documentation and records preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized, dependable, and able to consistently follow procedures
- Comfortable working collaboratively with both production and quality teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or similar systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary education in food science, biology, or a related discipline considered an asset, but not required
