CPG & Associates has partnered with a company near Lewisville seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Corporate GL Accountant with Inventory Responsibilities to join their growing corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, the position is primarily responsible for various general ledger accounting functions, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting, with a component focused on inventory accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to contribute to the overall accuracy and efficiency of the corporate accounting function. Responsibilities:
- Perform various general ledger accounting functions, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Manage and oversee specific aspects of inventory accounting, including the accurate recording of inventory-related transactions.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of key inventory accounts between the general ledger and sub-ledger systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in the analysis of inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.
- Prepare and analyze inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the Operations, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams on inventory-related matters.
- Assist in the annual physical inventory counts and cycle count programs, as needed.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the general ledger and inventory accounting areas.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and analyses as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with general ledger functions and some exposure to inventory accounting.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced skills).
- Experience with ERP systems prefer NetSuites
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification or progress towards certification.
- Public Accounting experience
- Familiarity with inventory accounting principles.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
