Purpose/Introduction
Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Shipper / Material Handler to join the Knoxville, TN manufacturing location. This role is a full-time employment opportunity in a 24/7/365 polyethylene pipe manufacturing extrusion operation, producing high quality polyethylene products.

Responsibilities
- Participates in daily safety routines (both as an individual and team member).
- Operates of forklift trucks and mobile equipment.
- Uses basic hand and power tools.
- Assists team mates as required.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum education of High School education or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.
- Available to work Monday – Friday 8 hours/day (including some weekends and holidays).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Detail-oriented.
- A demonstrated work history of shift work, in addition to working injury free and following work place/plant safety practices and procedures.
- General knowledge and experience using various types of hand tools.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- A demonstrated history of learning and applying new information and technology with math and learning skills.
- Proficient in communicating in English language (both verbal and written).
- Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs. without an assist.
- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous forklift and/or heavy equipment experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Testing Requirements:
Pre-employment and on-going testing includes: controlled substances, physical, background check, audiogram and vision.
Rate Information:
Starting Pay for this position is: $20.02/hour with time and one-half (1.5) paid for hours worked after 40 hours in a week.
After completing a successful probationary period and demonstrated learning ability the rate increases to $21.64/hour. Employees are reviewed thereafter on a regular schedule for potential increases.
Potential for year-end bonus.
Wages are paid bi-weekly
Work Schedule:
8 hours Monday – Friday with some weekend and holiday work.
