Duties
- Develop and maintain robust safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations, and other applicable laws.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across manufacturing facilities to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations by performing root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive training programs on safety procedures, OSHA compliance, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and other relevant topics to empower employees with essential safety skills.
- Manage workers' compensation claims process in accordance with workers' compensation law, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
- Maintain detailed safety records, prepare reports on safety performance metrics, and communicate findings to management for continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry best practices in EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), occupational health standards, and emerging regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness through ongoing training & development initiatives that motivate employees to prioritize health and safety daily.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, EPA standards, and occupational health principles.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on safety management.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting incidents, audits, training sessions, and compliance reports.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to identify underlying issues behind incidents or hazards.
- Skilled in developing engaging training programs related to workplace safety, EHS protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, OSHA Safety Certification, or equivalent are highly desirable.
