USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The Per Diem Nurse Practitioner will provide quality, cost-effective primary medical care to the university community on a per-diem basis, focusing mainly on students, with an emphasis on education and prevention. This includes seeing patients in a team setting, comprehensive relevant medical histories, performing appropriate physical examinations, ordering necessary tests, making accurate diagnoses and assessments, and implementing proper treatment plans based on evaluations. Thorough and timely documentation of all visits in the electronic health record is required. Duties/Responsibilities Practices independently, collaborates, and refers appropriately. Abides by, and functions under, the rules and regulations of the NH Board of Nursing governing the utilization of Nurse Practitioners in NH, or the Board of Medicine governing the utilization of Physician Assistants in NH, at all times. Diagnoses health and developmental issues. Prescribes appropriate pharmacological treatments. Develops and manages treatment plans for both acute and chronic conditions. Takes a physical and psychosocial history. Conducts physical examinations. Evaluates the health status of individuals and families. Initiates screening and diagnostic tests. Stays current on clinical issues relevant to practicing at Health & Wellness and completes the required continuing education credits to maintain licensure and national certification. Educates patients and promotes well-being. Reflects the organization’s values through behavior and attitude. Maintains accurate, comprehensive medical records. Meets productivity expectations. Manages time and the demands of daily practice. Performs other functions for which the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is qualified through education and experience. Participates in peer review. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures. Reviews and updates clinical guidelines. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant program and trained for clinical practice. Must hold a valid, unrestricted license for clinical practice in New Hampshire. Three years of clinical Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience at a minimum. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within a team. Experience with electronic health records and basic computer skills. Experience or specialization in mental health, eating concerns, office procedures, musculoskeletal complaints or injuries, and occupational health.
