Trailer Technician / Fabricator
The Trailer Technician / Fabricator performs mechanical repairs, structural repairs, welding, and fabrication on semi-trailers and related equipment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and the ability to complete work correctly and efficiently in a commercial shop environment.
Technicians are expected to uphold professional standards of workmanship, safety, and reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair semi-trailer mechanical systems (brakes, suspension, hubs, lights, air systems, etc.)
- Perform structural repairs and modifications to trailers
- Perform welding (MIG preferred)
- Fabricate components as needed for trailer repairs
- Inspect completed work prior to release
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Follow shop procedures and safety standards
- Communicate clearly with supervisors on repair status and issues
- Complete assigned work within expected time frames
Tools & Equipment
- Technicians must supply and maintain their own basic hand tools
- Specialty shop equipment is provided by CP-Trailer
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work under trailers
- Ability to work in a shop environment (heat, cold, noise, dust)
- Ability to safely operate welding and mechanical equipment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
