We are seeking an Event Sales & Activation Manager to take advantage of the opportunity to launch and maintain the short-term leasing, brand and pop-up activation, and events business for The Center (The CTR). The CTR – the former CNN Center and a seminal pillar of Downtown Atlanta – has transformed into a 1.1-million-square-foot mixed use destination to work, dine, play, create, and celebrate in a sophisticatedly modern indoor-outdoor setting. The Event Sales & Activations Manager is responsible for driving event revenue through strategic pricing and deal structuring, building strategic relationships, and executing high-impact and consistent programming. This role works closely with Corporate Communications, Leasing, and Property Management to drive foot traffic, customer engagement, and tenant and asset performance.
This is a revenue-driven role responsible for originating, pricing, and securing event opportunities with hands-on ownership of execution to ensure quality and repeat business to enhance tenant engagement, community presence, and overall asset value. The ideal candidate should be comfortable networking and closing deals, while also managing logistics and being on-site to ensure seamless execution. This role requires a strong understanding of event and market pricing, cost structures, and revenue generation. The Event Sales & Activation Manager will be incentivized and compensated for events and activations sold.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Prospect, develop, and secure new event opportunities including corporate events, brand activations, watch parties, and community programming
- Develop and own pricing strategies across event types, ensuring profitability and market competitiveness
- Lead site tours and presentations, positioning the property as a premier event destination
- Structure deals across space rental, sponsorship, and ancillary revenue streams and manage the full sales cycle from lead to event execution
- Track pipeline, revenue forecasts, and activity
- Maintain pipeline reports and sales forecasts to analyze market trends, coordinating efforts to increase revenue
- Routinely analyze comp set, ensuring competitive pricing and strategic revision to capture market share
- Serve as a key external ambassador for the property within the community and primary on-site partner to tenants for experience delivery and support
- Develop relationships with local organizations, sponsors, tenants, and local institutions to maintain consistent pipeline
- Identify and execute partnership opportunities that drive traffic and visibility
- Enable tenant participation in activations and destination moments
- Own end-to-end event planning (logistics, vendor coordination, run-of-show, and on-site management) and event P&Ls, ensuring alignment between contracted revenue, projected costs, and profitability
- Execute events that reinforce client satisfaction, repeat bookings, and long-term revenue growth
- Coordinate with internal teams (operations, security, engineering, marketing) to execute events seamlessly
- Oversee vendor partners including catering, AV, rentals, and entertainment and ensure necessary insurance requirements are met
- Be present for events (including nights/weekends) to ensure high-quality execution
- Develop and execute a calendar of recurring events and activations to drive traffic to the property
- Partner with property management team members and tenants to deliver experiential moments that drive traffic and sales
- Monitor and maintain a calendar of events in the surrounding area. Proactively identify collaboration opportunities, align property programming, and anticipate attendance patterns to optimize staffing, operations, and customer experience.
- Collaborate with tenants to support their events and maximize cross-promotion opportunities
- Assist in planning large-scale events tied to major moments (e.g., sporting events, concerts, tournaments, conventions, etc.)
- Ensure all on-site experiences, events, signage, and collateral are executed in accordance with approved brand standards and positioning
- Maintain detailed records of events, clients, and contracts
- Ensure compliance with property rules, insurance requirements, and operational standards
- Own budgeting, financial tracking, and post-event performance analysis across all bookings
- Continuously analyze pricing performance and cost structures to inform future rate setting and revenue optimization
- Work with Corporate Communications and local PR agency to ensure consistency and alignment with broader corporate and regional initiatives and to deliver on approved releases and media moments
- 5 years of experience in event sales, event management, hospitality, or related field
- Proven ability to generate leads and close business, not just execute events
- Strong networker with comfort in client-facing and community-facing roles
- Experience managing events from concept through execution
- Experience with Canva or InDesign a plus
- Highly organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
