Pet Care Associate

General Description:

· Pay would start at $13 per hour

· Shift we're looking to cover is 2pm to 9pm for most weekends and a few select weekdays

· Average hour amount would be around 27 to 34 hours per week

Job Summary:
The Animal Care Attendant is responsible for three major things: animal handling, cleaning, and customer service. We at Cozy Pet Hotel are a fairly new, family owned business! If you love animals, then this is the place to be as we specialize in taking care of pets that need individual attention. Since we operate a relatively small pet hotel, everyone is required to help take care of the furry guests in our care, cleaning rooms, and assisting customers—such as answering calls and booking reservations.

Responsibilities:

· Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, watering, and exercising

· Administer medication or treatments as instructed by pet owners or veterinarians

· Ensure pets are in a safe and secure environment at all times

· Clean and maintain pet areas, including litter boxes, cages, and outdoor spaces

· Monitor the behavior and health of pets and report any concerns to the owner or veterinarian

· Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations that may arise during pet sitting

· Engage in playtime and provide companionship to keep pets mentally stimulated

· Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding feeding schedules, dietary restrictions, and exercise routines

· Communicate with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' well-being

· Answering and/or returning customer calls and emails

· Gathering customer information and booking reservations

Skills:

· Strong knowledge of animal care practices and techniques

· Experience in dog training, pet grooming, or veterinary technician roles is a plus

· Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently

· Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners

· Attention to detail to ensure all pet care instructions are followed accurately

· Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting or prolonged periods of walking or standing
