Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Assistant to support the development and well-being of children in our care environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting children's growth through engaging activities and proper caregiving practices.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children during playtime, learning activities, and rest periods
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic hygiene routines for infants and toddlers
- Support classroom activities that promote childhood development and early learning skills
- Implement behavior management techniques to foster positive social interactions
- Ensure a safe environment by monitoring children at all times and adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with lead teachers or caregivers to plan age-appropriate educational activities
- Support children with special needs or disabilities as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare area
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily routines
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom organization
- Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
