Litigation Associate (Senior-Level)

Overview
A national, full-service law firm is seeking a Senior-Level Litigation Associate with 6–10 years of civil and commercial litigation experience to join its Pittsburgh office. This role requires someone who can independently handle complex litigation matters while working closely with partners and clients. The attorney must be confident in client interactions, capable of managing cases from start to finish, and skilled in mentoring junior associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Lead and manage litigation matters from inception through trial and/or settlement.
- Courtroom Work: Draft, argue, and file motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents; represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials.
- Depositions: Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and experts for testimony.
- Discovery: Conduct and oversee discovery processes, including e-discovery, document review, and production.
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with partners and clients to develop and execute litigation strategies.
- Client Relations: Act as a primary contact, managing relationships and delivering practical, solutions-oriented advice.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior associates and litigation support staff; ensure team compliance with deadlines, budgets, and case requirements.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials preferred.
- Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania (in good standing).
- Experience with federal court proceedings.
- 6–10 years of litigation experience in a law firm or comparable professional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation cases.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong leadership qualities with experience mentoring junior staff.
