About the Role

Are you looking for a hands-on role where your work actually changes lives? We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Composite Fabrication Technician to help build high-performance orthotic and prosthetic devices for people in our community. This isn't just a factory job — every strut you press and every layer you lay up goes directly to a person working to regain their mobility and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Cut plies from material roll using a clicker press during prep work
  • Build varying charge flexes based on production needs
  • Load and unload 50 lb molds from the heat press and remove finished struts
  • Laminate and lay up carbon fiber, fiberglass, and composite materials with precision
  • Operate presses and vacuum-forming equipment to shape orthotic and prosthetic devices
  • Grind, smooth, and apply professional-grade paint and coating to finished products
  • Perform quality control to ensure every device meets medical standards for fit and durability
  • Communicate and coordinate with production personnel
  • Follow directions, stay organized, and remain on task
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment

  • Hands-on dexterity — comfortable with detailed manual work and a steady touch
  • Experience with composites, resins, or auto-body work is a strong plus — but we will train the right person
  • Reliable and consistent — our patients depend on us
  • Takes pride in the quality and finish of their work
  • A team player who communicates well and stays organized

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing throughout the shift
  • Repetitive hand and arm motion
  • Exposure to heat and cold depending on production stage
  • Ability to lift and maneuver molds up to 30 lbs

Compensation & Schedule

  • Starting pay: $18.00/hour
  • Pay increases tied to experience and growing technical skills
  • Part-time 20-29 hours/week with potential to go Full-time
  • On-site position in Boise, ID

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 29.0 per week
