Overview
We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about kids & families and secondhand clothing, has a keen eye for fashion, is available one regular weekend day, either Saturdays or Sundays every week. Availability on the weekends is key.
The candiadate should enojoy working independently (without other team members around) and enjoy chatting with families. Our dream candidate will provide excellent customer service, be extremely dependable, feel energized around people and is extremely clean and organized. As a Sales Associate, you would play a crucial role in driving sales, maintaining the overall presentation and organization of the store, and keeping up with new inventory.
The number of hours per week would usually be limited to one weekend shift (4 to 7 hours on Saturday or Sunday), but the availability to jump in on weekdays when needed is possible, especially in the summer. However, this is not for a summer position only - we are looking for someone to start soon and continue into the fall and beyond.
Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with finding clothing, shoes, and books for children.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain stock levels by organizing, restocking and arranging merchandise on shelves as well as tagging new inventory.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shop and displays.
Requirements
- Incredible reliability - your weekly shifts would be attended regularly and advance notice would be given in the case of needing to miss one.
- Basic math and computer skills for handling transactions.
- Previous experience in working with POS systems is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and the shop owner.
- Willingness to show up on time, be friendly, helpful, and resourceful.
- Flexibility to work other/additional shifts if needed from time to time.
- Experience in children's clothing or secondhand clothing is a plus.
- Must be tidy and organized.
