Bike Technician & Guest Services Associate

Zion Cycles is a locally operated bike shop located in Springdale, Utah, just outside the entrance to Zion National Park. We provide high-quality bicycle and e-bike rentals, service, gear, and local riding knowledge to visitors exploring Zion and the surrounding area.

Our team works in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where excellent customer service and well-maintained equipment are equally important. We are looking for dependable, positive team members who enjoy working with bikes, helping people, and being part of the outdoor recreation community.

The Bicycle Technician & Shop Associate is an on-site position at Zion Cycles in Springdale, Utah. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available, with flexible scheduling depending on experience and availability.

This position combines bicycle maintenance and repair with day-to-day rental and shop operations. Responsibilities include inspecting, tuning, cleaning, and maintaining our fleet of bicycles and e-bikes to ensure every bike is safe and ready for guests.

Team members will also assist customers with bike rentals, properly size and fit bikes, explain basic bike operation and safety, answer questions about riding in Zion National Park, process rental and retail transactions, and help guests choose the right equipment for their experience.

Daily responsibilities may include:

• Inspecting, tuning, repairing, and maintaining bicycles and e-bikes
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and completing basic to intermediate repairs
• Preparing rental bikes for daily use
• Cleaning and organizing bikes, tools, equipment, and work areas
• Fitting guests with the correct bike, helmet, and rental equipment
• Explaining bike operation, safety procedures, and rental policies
• Providing friendly recommendations and local information to guests
• Processing rentals, returns, sales, and other point-of-sale transactions
• Assisting with inventory and general shop organization
• Working closely with the Zion Cycles team to keep daily operations running smoothly
• Maintaining a safe, clean, professional, and welcoming shop environment

• Previous bicycle repair or maintenance experience is preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Familiarity with bicycles, e-bikes, components, and basic bike systems
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting or moving bicycles and equipment
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn rental and point-of-sale software
• Knowledge of Zion National Park, cycling, or outdoor recreation is a plus
• Previous retail, rental, hospitality, or outdoor industry experience is a plus
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment
