Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately.
- Count, label, package, and organize medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Process insurance claims, troubleshoot claim rejections, and communicate with insurance companies when necessary.
- Contact physician offices for refill requests, prior authorizations, and prescription clarifications as directed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality diligently while handling sensitive health information in line with healthcare regulations.
- Answer telephone calls and assist customers with questions within the scope of the technician role.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, verifying prescriptions, and supporting medication adherence initiatives.
- Assist with the inventory management - including ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, and removing expired medications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and work stations.
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
Experience
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills is a must.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation standards, and state healthcare regulations is essential.
- Experience with pharmacy software systems and data entry processes is highly desirable.
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
