The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) at Senior Suites plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare team by safely administering medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification as required by the state of Oklahoma.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow medication orders and care plans accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and healthcare team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Certified Medication Aide or in a similar healthcare support role.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medication administration software.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience working in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility settings.
  • Additional training or coursework in geriatric care or pharmacology.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents following established policies, procedures, and legal guidelines.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ health status or adverse reactions to medications to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist residents with medication-related questions and provide reassurance to promote adherence and understanding.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective resident care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and competency evaluations to maintain certification and stay current with best practices.
  • Ensure medication storage areas are organized, secure, and comply with safety standards.
