About the Political Advocacy Training Academy (PATA)
The Political Advocacy Training Academy (PATA) is a 16-week civic education program designed to equip high-school and young adult learners with the foundational skills of community organizing, advocacy, and civic leadership — and confidently see organizing as a viable career path.
Rooted in experiential learning, social-emotional development, and practical civic engagement, PATA explores:
- How power operates within communities
- The mechanics of advocacy and relational organizing
- Effective communication and values-based messaging
- Community mapping, field planning, and strategy development
Participants meet twice weekly for interactive workshops and hands-on activities. The experience culminates in a capstone project where learners design and present their own advocacy initiative or social impact proposal.
PATA is strictly nonpartisan. It promotes civic literacy, equity, and leadership — not political parties or candidates.
