Job Overview
General Farm Assistant is a part-time position that supports all aspects of daily operations on the farm, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packing a variety of produce. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. No prior farm experience is required, but a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist with soil preparation, seeding, transplanting, and crop maintenance
- Weed, irrigate, and manage crops using natural and sustainable practices
- Harvest, wash, and pack produce for markets, CSA boxes, and wholesale orders
- Operate basic farm tools and equipment safely
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, barns, and packing facilities
- Assist with farmers’ market setup and sales (if applicable)
- Follow all farm safety guidelines and procedures
- Perform other farm-related tasks as needed throughout the growing season
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to perform physical labor in a variety of weather conditions (heat, rain, cold)
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Previous farm, garden, or outdoor labor experience is a plus but not required
