Position Description
Cowpokes Cloverdale is open seven days a week, and that requires additional demands of managerial staff. This position will be designed to oversee operations on and off the sales floor with the Cloverdale Store Manager.
- Provide leadership and oversight with store associates, shift leads, and assistant managers tied to training, scheduling, and employee activities
- Assisting with hiring and training new store associates
- Provide operational oversight during store hours
- Opening and closing procedures
- Maintain a working knowledge of all store merchandise
- Implementing all floor planning and merchandising instructions from the Creative Director and Store Manager
- Oversee customer layaways
- Reporting any inventory discrepancies or issues to the Cloverdale Store Manager and Anderson team
- Delegating daily task list and ensuring completion, communicating anything that is still needing to be completed at shift changes
- Stocking & moving inventory from store floor to backstock and vice versa
- Receiving and delegating projects from Store Manager and other department leaders to staff
- Daily drawer and reconciling for the opening manager on shift
- Additional responsibilities as delegated by the Cloverdale Store Manager or Cowpokes ownership
Preferred Experience & Skills
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following experience and skills:
- A hard work ethic that is diligent in their tasks and takes initiative: There are always things to do on the floor, in backstock, etc. We encourage managers to take the initiative to ensure their team is busy serving customers first and ensuring the store is a place people want to be.
- Ability to remain task-oriented and potentially in extended time situations: Cowpokes’ growth has led to growth in responsibilities tied to online order fulfillment, inventory transfers, and loading and unloading trailers or box trucks.
- Excellent communication skills: There are many individuals working on behalf of Cowpokes, and often, we have a lot of moving parts. It is of immense importance to communicate thoroughly at all times with individuals on the team.
- Experience utilizing Shopify, Microsoft Office 365, point-of-sale operations, checklists, etc.
- Ability to navigate technology such as desktop computers and cloud-based software programs
- Detail-oriented with a focus on effective communication and consistent record-keeping
Scheduling & Availability
- Evening hours and weekend hours required in rotation with the Cloverdale Store Manager and Shift Leads
- Maintain a consistent schedule of 35 - 40 hours weekly
- Ability to fill in on shifts when needed
Compensation
- Per hour rate
- Overtime will be paid at the rate of time and a half after 40 hours weekly
- Commissions paid when/if working the retail floor based on sales of specific product categories
- Bonuses are available periodically and subject to management discretion
