Job involves installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment through preventative and corrective actions. Key duties include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting malfunctions, repairing or replacing parts, and performing tasks like lubrication, welding, and calibration. Technicians must also adhere to safety regulations, keep accurate records, and maintain parts inventories.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and calibration of machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues by disassembling machinery, using diagnostic equipment, and making necessary repairs.
- Install equipment: Install new industrial and commercial machinery and components.
- Fabricate parts: Perform welding and metal fabrication to create or repair parts as needed.
- Maintain records: Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and work orders.
- Manage inventory: Monitor and maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Ensure safety: Follow all safety procedures and regulations, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate: Train production staff on basic maintenance, communicate with the production team, and report issues to supervisors.
Key skills and requirements
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices.
