Position: Assistant Early Childhood Educator
Location: Cowo & Crèche, Alexandria, VA 22314
Hours: Part-Time, 20-25 hours per week
Pay: $15.50-$18.75 per hour, based on experience

Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will embrace Montessori principles, supporting children’s independence and growth through observation, guidance, and interaction in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing the curriculum provided by Cowo & Crèche.
- Support a learning environment that nurtures students’ social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
- Help maintain a beautiful and orderly Montessori environment, ensuring safety and health compliance.
- Assist in observing and documenting children’s progress and behavior.
- Communicate with parents as needed using an approved app.
- Engage with children individually to address their emotional and developmental needs.
- Assist Lead Teacher to foster a classroom culture of kindness, understanding, and respect.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance educational outcomes and support Cowo & Crèche’s mission.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Degree preferred, not required).
- Experience or training in a Montessori classroom setting.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with children from 16 months to five years old.
- Prior experience in a licensed childcare center.
