SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under general direction:
- Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks relative to park/facility operations.
- Perform janitorial duties for public and restroom facilities.
- Complete tasks as assigned by Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Occasional instruction required after duties assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Perform custodial duties and rounds at all satellite, lodge, and pool bathroom facilities. Clean the lodge and all public areas.
- Communicate any items for attention/concern in a timely manner to Maintenance Technician II, Maintenance Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
- Perform repairs to bathroom fixtures. Under supervision, install new fixtures such as faucets, drinking fountains, water heaters, water closets, urinals, and water regulators.
- Monitor facilities for items that require replace and replacement --- report to maintenance supervisor.
- Maintain a clean work area. This includes vehicles, shop, outbuildings, etc.
- Pick-up trash and empty trash cans throughout the park.
- Set-up lodge for meetings.
- Provide timely propane service to members.
- Perform painting, basic plumbing, and carpentry work.
- Maintain tools and equipment in working order. Coordinate with Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Supervisor any outsourcing of repairs/preventative maintenance.
- Maintain Park grounds, structures, and related facilities/grounds in a safe and attractive manner.
- Perform a wide variety of basic tasks in the construction, upkeep, and repair of park facilities.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment as well as a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ensure work condition are safe and report any potential hazards to Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Safely drive and skillfully operate power equipment and hand tools involved in building maintenance, repair, and construction. These include, but are not limited to motor vehicles, hand power equipment, lawn mower, weed wacker, power locator, etc.
- Proactively monitor items that require maintenance attention throughout the park. This includes aesthetic items such as signs, branches, rocks in the roadway, trash, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
- Principles and practices of park/facility maintenance.
- Equipment, tools, and materials used in park/facility maintenance activities and services.
- Principles of efficient job duty completeness and organization.
- Principles and practices of a safe work environment.
- Principles of landscaping, irrigation, and horticulture.
- Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, and rules.
- Perform introductory work in a variety of building trades.
- Perform a range of basic tasks involved in a variety of building maintenance, repair, and construction activities. This includes rough/finish carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, and janitorial skills.
- Safely drive and operate power equipment and hand tools involved in building maintenance, repair, and construction.
- Maintain and repair a variety of tools and equipment.
- Read and work from sketches, blue prints, or drawings.
- Maintain records – including time and material use.
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One years of facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and/or plumbing maintenance.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- · May be necessary to obtain specialized license(s) or certificate(s) related to park/facility operations.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
