The health care records clerk is responsible for processing patient health care records releases, scanning and indexing into the patient medical records, archiving and shredding patient health care records, and other associated clerical and patient health care record tasks.

The health care records clerk is responsible for processing patient health care records releases, scanning and indexing into the patient medical records, archiving and shredding patient health care records, and other associated clerical and patient health care record tasks.
- Wage Range: $20.59 - $22.17
- Schedule: Monday Through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- FTE: 1.0

Requirements
DESIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in health information technology or equivalent combination of job experience and education.
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is preferred.
- 1-5 years of previous work experience performing medical records, general clerical, data entry, and customer service duties, preferably within an outpatient primary care clinic.
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with patients, clients, co-workers, colleagues and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Must be a confident, self-directed individual who can work within a team as well as independently.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, utilizing concise and comprehensive documentation with strong technical writing and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- ICD/CPT coding knowledge is preferred.
- Proficient in medical, dental, nutrition, behavioral health, or other terminology pertinent to the position and to outpatient social service office procedures.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Salary : $50,000
