PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assist with updating route sheets; help to organize, solve, and logistically process relevant information with regard to system mapping and student transportation. Handle dispatch duties for all transportation operations.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Transportation Manager
Job Description
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Skills
Proficiency in typing, computers, telecommunications devices, audio-visual equipment, and oral and written communication; strong interpersonal and public relations skills; knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, road networks, traffic patterns, locations of schools, and related geographic information to support the transportation of students; ability and willingness to work under pressure of recurring deadlines and short-or-no notice changes; must be detail oriented and support the long range goals of CCSS transportation; must obtain applicable transportation software training and any required update training. Confidentiality is essential.

Logistics/transportation management or the management and coordination of large amounts of information with a high level of efficiency.

Job Description
- Assist with developing safe and efficient routes and schedules for student transportation.
- Meet with drivers to record/provide route and rider changes.
- Help to provide and maintain up-to-date route sheets for all school bus drivers.
- Help maintain and ensure the accuracy of the student database.
- Help ensure safety and accuracy of routes with regard to speed limits, bridge restrictions, bus stops, turnarounds, railroad crossings, obstructions, construction, etc.
- Help maintain and ensure the accuracy of the office's Master Street and road maps.
- Manage the bus arrival database.
- Perform dispatch duties for daily pupil transportation operations.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Transportation Manager.
